The Impact of Relative Humidity (RH) on Strip Assembly

Why Strips Curl

Assembling lateral flow cards in uncontrolled humidity leads to membrane curling and adhesive failure. Nitrocellulose expands when wet.

Ideal Conditions

We manufacture Due Bio strips in a Class 100,000 cleanroom maintained at <20% RH. We strongly advise our customers to assemble their final cassettes in environments with <40% RH to maintain the structural integrity of the backing card bond.
